Join us at the 6th Indie & Foreign Film Festival on Thursday, Oct. 17th at 6pm, Friday, Oct. 18th at 6pm, and Saturday Oct. 19th at 1pm, hosted by The Migrant Center of New York, Inc. (formerly The Migrant Center at the Church of St. Francis of Assisi).
This year, we have a great selection of films that focus on the current immigration situation here in the U.S.A. as well as abroad.
The Opening Night on Oct 17th will feature short films and a feature drama:
UNACCOMPANIED: ALONE IN AMERICA is a short film that shows what happens when children appear in immigration court without a lawyer, and feature film PAPER BOATS is about a man who seems to have lost it all that recovers his will to live in the face of a tragedy & deportation - story about the meaning of love, family and the pursuit of happiness.
2nd Night, Fri. Oct. 18th, selected Student Films will be featured alongside the award winning film SEADRIFT.
3rd Night, Sat. Oct. 19th, 1pm, Matinee featuring RETOURNADOS (THE RETURNED) and RAHEEL among others. At 6pm, Recognition and Reception Night to conclude this year’s festival.
